Course Offerings for Michaelmas 2010

PD-80  The Legacy of the Apostle Paul in Early Christianity

This course first gives an overview of Paul's ministry and the seven authentic letters of Paul. It then examines the six New Testament deutero-Pauline letters, the Paul of Acts, and other early Christian literature that mentions Paul.

PM-68 Preaching Workshop: Creating Identity: Preaching in the Year of Matthew

Matthew seeks to strengthen his readers' commitment by strengthening their identity as members of the Jesus-Disciple community. In the workshop his great sermons, his use of the Old Testament, and special concerns reflected in his gospel receive attention.

PG-61 Lutheran Confessional Heritage

This course if for anyone who wants to know how Lutherans are Christian, how Lutherans "say" the Christian faith, and how it makes a difference in today's world as it did in the past.  It examines the content and scope of the Lutheran confessional writings and their normative nature for evangelical theology, for Lutheran ministry, and for the life of the church today.

PG-62 Lutheran Confessional Heritage for Seminary Credit

This course examines the content and scope of the Lutheran confessional writings and their normative nature for evangelical theology, for Lutheran ministry, and for the life of the church today. Attention is given to recent ecumenical agreements for review and evaluation.

PG-63 The Reformations: Then and Now

This course explores five phases of the Reformation era: Lutheran, Reformed, Anabaptist, Anglican, and Roman Catholic, the legacies of that era and the claim that we are currently in an emerging new reformation.
